The Salzburg Marionette Theater ...Founded in 1913 by sculptor Anton Aicher, The Salzburg Marionettes have performed throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In 2016 they were included in the UNESCO Community of Intangible Cultural Heritage. With that recognition, UNESCO recognizes the performance of the Salzburg Marionette Theater as a cultural asset worth preserving and the “most highly developed form of puppetry and puppet theater.” After celebrating the 100th anniversary of the company on February 27, 2013, the Aicher family has dedicated itself for 3 generations to the continuation and maintenance of the art of puppetry, which is thousands of years olds, with enthusiasm and love. |

Describing themselves as “a big theater with little actors,” the Salzburg Marionette’s have developed an extensive repertoire that has enchanted thousands of people, children and adults alike, in its more than 100 year history and are known all over the world. An ensemble of ten puppeteers brings the artistic figures to life in elegant, precise and humorous performances.
To operate for some 108 years means that The Salzburg Marionette Theater and its touring productions have embraced cutting edge technology while retaining the charm and vision of its founder over 100 years ago. Thus we are very excited to share with you that the fully productions of long-time favorites of audiences the world over are now available as pre-recorded productions that can be made available on demand to your audiences at very reasonable fees.
